Alone
the night shimmers in the sky,
a child sits on the street hungry and alone,
just waiting to die.
for he is cold to the bone.
a stranger passes by,
and the child does not stir.
and then the mans eyes begin to blurr.
He feels awful,
and begins to cry.
for he was once that boy,
forgotten, hungry, and alone.
waiting on the sidewalk,
for someone to throw him love or a toy,
no one to offer him a home.
the man scoops him up and into his car,
ready to take him home. so now he can feel care and love,
and never feel alone.
