My Friends
My friends can disappoint me
From time to time
I can fume at them silently
Quite like a mime
No it never seems to matter.
How much I shout and cry
They still leave me asking
“Why oh why?”
Why would they wander in the room
Where darkness lurks
Why would they enter the forest
Where evil works
Why would they not see
Something so clear
Why would they be so brave
When they should be smart and fear
Though no matter how much
I scream and shout
My love for them
Will never be put out
No matter what
I still turn their pages
And pray their chapters
Will last for ages

As I sat in front of the blank computer screen my thoughts strayed to books. So, I wrote a poem about them.
