My Eyes Are Open
Nights and days
And crazy adventures
Too good to be true or real
Unless that's the way
Relentless beauty in the woods
Eagles soaring above our heads
Reagal Tents around a fire
Even with bears near by
Van or truck we took for
Evenings in the mountains
All night or just the afternoon
Lovely smells and picturesque views
So good but I can't stay for long
If only everywhere was as peaceful
Time just doesn't like me, I swear
So late in the time of the world
Everywhere was as beautful once
Left to the hands of man
For destruction was wrought

Often times, I look at the world around me and wonder what it used to look like. Rarely, do I ever see remnents of the past, and mostly while I'm visiting the mountains. But even the most remote part of the mountains and remaining wilderness is still tainted by the actions of man.
