"Letter to the World"
This is my letter to the world,
As Emily Dickinson once said,
She told of nature and messages,
And left a thought in our heads.
My letter to the world,
Is more of a question,
Rather than a statement,
Because something unsettling has caught my attention.
My letter to the world,
Is why do we live in fear,
To go to a marathon,
Because bombings might be near?
My letter to the world,
Is why do we watch the News scared,
Watching intentivly in our seats,
Waiting to see if war is declared?
My letter to the world,
Is why we wait at the doctors afraid,
After every ailment or illness,
To see if they come tell us we aren't okay?
My letter to the world,
Is why in school there a sense of uneasiness,
Because there's a constant reminder,
That a shooting might be expressed.
My letter to the world,
Is why do you fill our heads' with nightmares,
When all we want to do is live,
Which makes us question,
Do you even care?
Sincerlely,
The People of the World
