If it was illegal to do this many would be in jail
Their eyes red from tears and skin light and pale
To do this to a child is unthinkable
Yet so many people do it everyday

It's not murder or the injustice of another's hand
But it does in a way ruin a child's life ,and,
Gouges the child's eyes from the light
To put them in a place that's not so bright

This unfortunate child once saw light
But now all they ever see is night.

They will try to subdue it and act like it's not there
But the ignorance will not let them stand to bear
It took but one truth to widen this child's knowledge
But it took that one truth to ruin the child's knowledge

Never again can they play the same games
They know to much to much and those games are lame
Never again can they be excited by minimum
However now and again they will still throw a tantrum

You might ask what this is
You may never figure it out , even if you're a wiz
And it's not that it's tricky
Or anything real picky

It barley goes noticed
And you'll be surprised to know it's never stressed
It's the loss of my innocence
Or as I like to call it my death
