Reborn
The blue rushed beneath me
My heart told me to stop
But my mind instructed me to be brave
I edged closer to my fears
Its coolness like a cool fire engulfing me
A lake opened in front of my eyes
My heart heeded haste
My limits without fleet
I stood at the top
My eyes closed to the sun’s rays
Wind whispered through my ears
My eyes awoke, for the first time I could see
Now with a deep desire, I denied all lies
Three short steps, now face to face
I jumped, complete
My heart sped, never to stop
My mind freed for the rest of my days
For those three short seconds nothing could interfere
I forgot about the water, the mighty sea
I forgot about the sun, no longer would I be shy
I suddenly felt satisfied, pain erased
My heart still pounded, a million beats
My face changed like the tides, I had to reason to envy fops
A wave of content washed over me, reappraised
Drowning in joy with no need of the life raft of loneliness and fear
The water was defeated, I became free
I saw a new person, I heard a satisfied sigh
Someone happy, forever not encased
