Animal Hunt
Snow everywhere
Up to my ankles
Cold,slash and branches
at the surface,no noise
only the sound of people
walking on snow
My whiskers frozen stiff
As my head pops out of my den
My paws touch the snow,
Cold
School starts,8:25
Ms Krauskopf welcoming us in the room
She announces a trip to Indian Springs
We get there our faces cold
and our feet damp
As I walk through the snow,
My tail dragging
I look around and I spot
The same tracks that I leave
I follow the tracks,
Nothing
We choose an area to look around
We spot tracks, small
We follow the tracks wich
ends at a den, but no
sign of animal.
My paws freezing, my legs
shaking as I still follow
the tracks. Suddenly I stop
thinking of quitting
but then I spot the tip of a tail
that looks like mine, thin going into a den.
And I hop in.
We head back to school
wondering what the animal was doing
Mating?
Eating?
Hiding?
What mysterious creatures
