The One True Game
Lacrosse, the Creator’s game
The sport that has seen many thousand years
Called by many different name
Played with a ball that craves blood and tears.
Invented by Native Americans, Lacrosse is as brutal as war
The goal in this game is to score
Matches went on for many days, and spanned many miles
Now it is played in different ways, with different play styles.
Goalie, Defense, Middie and Attack
None of the positions are the same
Except we all want to take the ball to the rack
Playing the game is as tame as a hurricane.
The field is a warzone
The Players’ soldiers, and the Coaches’ generals
To spectators it is only a game
But for us, the game goes more than skin deep.
