Game Over
Soccer, they say it’s just a game.
That it’s all about the fame.
But they don’t know the true story.
Not everyone just wants the glory.
There’s always a reason,
And everyone can’t wait for the season.
1st step on the field and everything changes.
The whistle blows and the ball begins to run.
Your adrenaline rushes as if you’re on a roller coaster.
You get butterflies in your stomach.
People chanting your name, so now you feel the pressure.
A perfect pass is given to you.
A dancing dribble before you shoot.
The shot is a rocket.
You see the goalkeeper frozen like ice,
And the stadium is quite as can be.
The net moves and the ball goes in
GOOOOOAL!
The second whistle blows.
Game over.
Looking up and remembering why you play,
Giving all the honor and glory
To the man upstairs.
Soccer, it’s not just a game.
It’s your life and you’re living the dream.
