Big Sandy Water Cup

  As I grow older,
Thoughts pile upon my shoulder.
Sometimes, they drag me down,
Just like a heavy ball gown.

I don’t know why they stay,
When all I want is for them to go away.
I try to send them on vacation,
But they show up at the nearest bus station.

Although, they’re not all bad,
They can also be insanely rad.
My thoughts define who I am,
And can pull me out of any traffic jam.

Still, my thoughts are like cars.
Racing through my brain, but not getting too far.
My thoughts have their weaknesses and perks.
I just have to find out how they work.

My thoughts are the sand and I am the water.
They follow your movements, like clay and a potter.
So, as thoughts continue to pile up,
Remember the big sandy water cup.
