I’m cold; it’s not the windy winter weather
It’s the way people stare
You can’t block that ice with a sweater
At least some people pretend to care

I don’t like to beg for cash
But how else will I get food
I’ve gotten used to being treated like trash
I’m sorry I ruined your perfect mood

Car doors locking slap me in the face
I don’t always see, like a dog I hear
I’m a human like you let that be what you embrace
I’m not a villain no need to fear

All I want is to be treated like I’m real
It would only take one person to say hello
Ask me how my day is, ask me how I feel
So I can finally say, “Hi, my name is Joe”
