Out Into the World
My eyes open to the sun beaming through my window.
A spotlight shining on me.
I hear the creaking of the doors.
I hear my fathers footsteps.
I hear doors opening and closing
My mother calls me.
Her smile is warm and her eyes are bright.
She hands me some coins to spend on my adventure.
Step, Step, Step. Out into the world.
I walk, my shoes thump-thump-thumping.
thump-thump-thumping like the beating of my heart.
The trees are orange and yellow.
They shading me as i walk.
I hear kids playing, laughing, giggling.
A bird is flying above me.
High, joyful and free. Like I am.
Step, Step, Step. Into a dress shop
Beautiful patterns of blue and violet
A woman is delicately spinning the fabric.
Her hands are skilled.
Shes creating something new.
Everything is new to me.
Step, Step, Step. out into the world.
A man selling flowers,
bouquets and boquets of flowers.
Tulips, Roses, Daisies, Chrysanthemums.
I hand the man some coins.
He hands me the Chrysanthemums in return.
Step, Step, Step. Out into the world.
Skipping now. Skip, skip, skip down a path.
Skip, Skip, Skip. Skip, Skip, Skip.
The trees are now dark.
The wind is rustling.
i am lost. It is cold.
A spider has woven a web so inricate.
Just like ive woven my way here.
I hear wolves howling. Spin, Spin, Spin.
Looking for a way out.
A bird flies free above me.
I follow. It leads me to the light.
I see my mothers eyes, not so bright.
Her smile is now relived.
I run Into her arms
The Chrysanthemums fall on the ground.
