Moving On
Within this land where the raging rivers run dry,
I see your menacing face in the dull grey sky.
The person you were, a kind ghost of the past,
Will be lost in my thoughts, your light is fading fast.
The light that cast away my paralyzing misery
Is now nothing but a distant memory.
I miss your loving touch and comforting grin,
But above all, I crave the feel of your skin.
All I have now are broken words and an empty dream,
Nothing more of your faux gleam.
The person you are is the one that I hate,
Not even the most vile crook can relate
To your toxic thoughts and vicious lies
I can see all now with clear, blue eyes.
Within this land of sorrow and pain
A glorious ray shines through all of the rain
A newfound love, passionate and pure,
In the eyes of another, definite and sure.
