17.You got a new boyfriend today and I made him swear to me that he would treat you like you are the blood in his veins. I reminded him that you are not a flower and he is not the sun that you need to revolve around. That you are so beautiful and he should know how lucky he is to hold you in his arms because i've spent my whole life with you and I know how good you are. I reminded him that you are good at protecting like when my boyfriend came home drunk and I ran into your room and locked to door and you held me in your arms.

16.You cried on my shoulder as you chugged a bottle of Vodka like it was your lifeline because you were slowly dying from the pain in your heart that he caused. You cried as we looked at the picture of your boyfriend kissing someone else. You asked if you could stay in my room that night because you needed to be comforted. Of course you can stay because I love you I said.

15.You told me how beautiful I was and you gave me advice on guys and you went shopping at the mall with me. I saw you pretend to be interested while watching football on the TV when I knew what you really wanted to do was re-read the Harry Potter series so I turned it off and threw the first book at you. You smiled. Your smile makes my world revolve because the curvature of your lips reminds me of mine and I remembered how similar we are but I know I am not nearly as beautiful as you. I do not have the glassy blue eyes that your boyfriends get lost in for days or the smoothness of your hair.

13.You came to my room with tear stains on your cheeks and blood red eyes and your perfect blond hair was strewn everywhere. I asked you what was wrong and with sobs you yelled “Dad told me he wanted to disown me. Dad told me I am not his son anymore. Dad told me that I am going to hell because God doesn't like people like me. I am a child of God aren't I? He can't just disown me. I wouldn't choose this”. You sobbed.

12.You told me how dark the closet was so I said “No silly” and I dragged your hand to your room and I flicked on the closet light and showed you that it wasn't that dark anymore. You smiled and I watched the tears start to form in your eyes. I asked you what was wrong and you just kept smiling while tears fell out. I was getting scared now. Why are you crying. What did I say. “I'm gay” you told me. I looked at you and I just said “Gay means happy. So i'm gay too. Just.. a different kind I guess.” I said with a smile. You hugged my thin frail body tightly as you told me you loved me and I told you that I already knew that.

9.You were staring at that boy in your art class from across the room in awe and I smiled. I wish I had that kind of passion in my life.

7.We learned today that no matter what people should love who they love no matter race and I came home and told you and you just smiled at me. You told me that people of any gender can love each other too. Boys can even love boys you told me and I smiled at you and said of course, why wouldn't they be allowed to.

1. You held me in your arms for the very first time and promised yourself to always protect me and swore you would teach me the truth for as long as I lived and God you kept your promise.
