Death: why do we fear it?

Death can bring love, he can bring hate;

he can give, or he can take.

So just sit back, there's no need to fear;

soon you can shed that little tear.

Though you know not why, he says it's their time;

but he gives you this chance, to say your final goodbye.

For he is not truly cruel, as many believe, he's simply doing his job, and then he will leave.

The author's comments:

My grandmother died shortly before I wrote this, and befre she died she told me that I had nothing to fear form death. Death can take a loved one from you, but it also reunites them with those they themselves have lost; therefore, I don't think that it should be feared as much as it is. That is what I hope this poem shows.
