Look up into the vibrant pastel sky.

Perfectly painted with soft strokes of blue,
Swirls of inspiration are flying high.

Bolt from darkness, hatred, the staring eye.
There is much beyond you never even knew.
Look up into the vibrant pastel sky.

The sky is full of wonder, awe, and why.
A motivation for all to pursue,
Swirls of inspiration are flying high.

The elaborate tie dye breaks the cry.
Never ending ribbons of striking hue,
Look up into the vibrant pastel sky.

The light of the day has to say goodbye
Before the dark of the night enthralls you.
Swirls of inspiration are flying high.

It is something that money cannot buy.
Escape from worries, admire the view.
Look up into the vibrant pastel sky.
Swirls of inspiration are flying high.

The author's comments:

Hi,

My name is Evie M. I am a 15 year old. We have been writing and learning a lot about poetry in my 10th grade literary analysis class and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I wanted to get some feedback on a recent piece. This is a villanelle that I wrote about the sunset. I wrote about the sunset because I have learned to really love and adore the sunset. I find that it inspires me to be a better person and motivates me to do things out of my comfort zone. Thank you for your time!
