From Nadir to Zenith and Back Again
From nadir to zenith and back again
The moon and sun both rival friends
Wrestling for the eyes of all below
Who shall win? no one quite knows
The sun, feeding the green earth with rays
Fights to reach the zenith throughout the day
Fights the stars to reach it’s peak
So he can shine with hope and glee
At the top the sun takes a well-deserved rest
But he can’t help but feel impending death
Suddenly the heavens start fighting back
Pushing him to his nadir, on a shameful path
He weeps and cries for his time is closing
And luna’s presence is fast approaching
The blue waves begin to rise and ebb
As the moon takes her place, a virulent deb
A parasite of the day, she steals the suns light
With the stars and the tides, she brings life to the night
But as night drones on, to the earth’s delight
Sol seeks vengeance, a noble fight
Soon the moon is driven to her nadir, out of sight
Her evanescent light fading out with night
So as the sun and the earth once again sing victorious songs of delight
The cycle resets and the moon will once again strike with a devastating blight
