Auburn Faith
I walked down to the glistening shore
and watched the stars dance among the waves
Their mother smiled back at me
as salt water crashed into the caves
She was round and full
like a warm apple pie
but the silhouette she shown on,
caught my eye
It was terribly elegant
gliding on ice
It was an incredulous sight
I had to glance twice
But when i looked back
for the figure gliding
not a single movement
but the waves colliding
I knew something was out there
If only someone else could see
But when I shared my story
They only laughed at me
but deep inside
I knew I was right
I believed in my instinct
and went back late that night
I waited and waited
for her to return
hours passed
and my patience burned
The stars and their mother
whispered to me
"dont give up
and you will see"
Suddenly a splash
with the shape of a tail
six feet high
with glistening scales
A passionate fire
burned inside
as I watched this beauty
roll with the tide
She was terribly elegant
gliding on ice
every moment spent
was worth the price
as she swam under
mother's white light
Her wavy hair
was lucid and bright
Auburn was the color
like leaves on autumn trees
She was real as anyone else,
But unchained and free
Her presence gave me faith
That no one else could see
But that didn't matter
as long as I belived in me
