I wish I was good at being me
Not the me that you all see
That isn’t me
That’s you ruining me
Be yourself
That’s what they always say
But how can you be you
When she is criticized every day
Being me isn’t easy
It’s unexceptionally hard
In a place of negativity
Amidst a broken heart
Why can’t me
The me who isn’t me
Come out of the dark
Into a light-bound sea
