“Being a student-athlete is so hard. But I love sports so much, I can’t give them up!”
Lex said to Jane.
Practice. Homework. Eat. Sleep
My motto is be the lion not the sheep
I have passion so deep inside
Along with my determination and my pride
Run, run, run on my free day
So I train like no other like I’m getting pay
I love sports so much i can’t give them up!
“I pushed myself too far.”
Lex confessed.
I collapsed on the ground
I swear my body felt like a thousand pounds
I needed help with the most simple things
I heard the ambulance, the sirens sing
I love sports so much I can’t give them up!
“What happened to me?”
Lex remembers asking.
Her heart wasn’t steady
And her mind was going crazy, her body wasn’t ready.
I love sports so much I can’t give them up!
She shook her head with tears in her eyes
The doctor said “the risks are too high.”
Now she can only close her eyes
Running with the wind, she never felt more alive
I love sports so much, but I have to give them up
