A Generation's Cry
Every day gone by
filled with the cry
of the forgotten one
the one lie
Damnation
asphyxiation
sounds familiar I’d say
for an abomination.
Love renounced
life’s passion an ounce
what's left?
when your spirit is trounced.
He told me he loved me
she told me she loved me
their true inside masked
by pride so holy.
Hanging from this rope
undone without hope
see what the mask did
you couldn’t grasp its scope.
You aren’t to blame
into the flames
goes the beast
along with the shame
Stop fueling this fire
and this evil empire
love regardless
of their deep desire.
Hate has no place
in a world of grace
look into the mirror
envision my face.
Remember my smile
remember my trial
let’s change our future
into something worthwhile.
