Lonesome
Trees of green,
A valley of red
How much have I seen,
What resides in my head?
I marvel at skies of blue,
To be rid of pain
I’ll color this empty hue,
With light so vain
Loneliness seeks a friend,
And I’ve approached her
No need to defend,
She won’t bite, for sure
I cherished her presence,
And loved we did
For it is in absence,
I never hid
Beauty is for the lonesome
It slumbers in the darkness
To it, I’ve no need to come,
For it lives in the heartless.
