Magnolia
Branches
Extend from an
Ever-so big body;
Like arms that hold
A nest of young birds,
Or offers a home to those who
Seek shelter in her shade
From sun and rain.
She is so beautifully decorated
With flowers perched precariously
On her embossed, green leaves
That provide her with a perfume of her own.
They seem to glow in a beautiful
Blend of white and pink.
The same ones that make me look forward
to their beautiful blooms in the spring.
Sitting in her arms, and close to her body,
she doesn’t seem to mind that I talk to her
and tell her all my stories.
And she, in return,
Provides me with a place to go
And escape the world.

So sweet and beautiful... I love the imagery and the picture it illustrates - for me, a lush, rolling hillside and a boy sitting by a tree with pink blossoms, eyes closed, drinking in the beauty. Thank you for making my day :)
