Tragedy
My love is like a play
Or i should more likely say
A broken deadbeat tragedy
Performed on a dusty stage.
The marionette performers,
The cliche dancing stars,
The cleverly hidden disasters
That make my love so hard.
Selfdoubt is the force,
Driving the play along,
He causes me remorse,
And havoc among the throng.
Depression comes on next,
Her dancing slow and sorrowful
She is a nervous wreck
Hanging her head feeling shameful,
The crowd is left a mess,
And cannot stir or fumble.
The show must go on,
And the next performer strays,
From the dressing room,
To center stage and attempts to amaze.
He's a mirror image
Of what i came to be,
After my heart has taken damage,
From this damned tragedy.
He takes the stage and struts his stuff,
In attempt to make amends,
For the poor performers, the shameful fluff,
Which seem to never end.
He masks his sadness and fakes a smile,
To keep the crowd entertained,
He wants to keep his friends and cut the denial,
In which his life depends.
The crowd is standing now,
His performance kept them on their toes,
The roses get thrown,
He takes a bow
And the curtain begins to close.
He returns in the darkness,
To his private room once more,
He slumps in his chair in sadness,
His performance has his heart sore.
He has never had a witness
To see his deadened core
What makes him who he is
And why he must perform once more.
I look in his eyes,
My true dark half
Not needing disguise
For he lives inside me now
And takes me by surprise.
His performance now on my stage
Or should i say ours,
For he is i, and i am him,
Born from the exact same stars.
I slump in the chair next to him,
And glance at the mirror,
Broken and cracked
Show me the traits i lack,
In which to make me better.
The dark half in me,
Sleeping within my soul
Has awoken finally,
And started taking his toll.
We sit in the crowd,
Observing on stage
Those who wish to love us.
Take the role
Of our hearts craze
And only wish to help us.
They act well,
For we come to believe,
That they truly want to love us.
But at the end of the play,
They never do stay,
And try to repair us.
Now maybe you have come to see
The play that has been spoken
It is my heart's true tragedy
And will always leave me broken..
