Untitled Paradise
Where is my Untitled Paradise?
My place of happiness, bliss and joy?
Will I ever recognize?
It’s haunted me like a parasite
From the time I was a boy
Where is my Untitled Paradise?
Is it in a place with ice
or where I worked as farm boy?
Will I ever recognize?
My angst paralyzes
Was it that summer in Savoy?
Where is my Untitled Paradise?
This fear I cannot emphasize
The place I’ve looked for since I was a boy
Will I ever recognize?
Because of countless tries
The present I don’t enjoy
Where is my Untitled Paradise?
Will I ever recognize?

In this poem I tried to capture the emotions of an individual with a rural background during a midlife crisis. The word “untitled” stands for the fact that, even though said individual has lived through many experiences, he still hasn’t found one thing that makes him truly happy. I relate to that in the sense that, in highschool, I feel I am scratching the surface of almost all disciplines known to man, but I’m unsure which particular subject would make me happy to study it in the university level. Furthermore, in my childhood I recall doing several outdoor activities such as horse riding or playing guitar; and while I enjoyed all, I mastered none.
