The Tree

The tree towered overhead,
It leaned towards the sky.
A landing place for birds,
To sit on and then fly.

It soaked in all the sunlight,
It cast shade on all the bugs.
Oh, it was quite a sight!
The tree was such a sight!

It loomed over everything,
Showering all the creatures,
With joy that made them sing,
A happy song as days went by.

As days went by,
As days went by,
The days flew by,
The days flew by.

Rings came in year after year,
But the tree had still remained,
The friend that was still near.
It still spread joy and glee.

Until at last it was time,
For the tree to take its course.
It was cut down; sold for a dime,
Its value being more.

Right away a seed was planted,
Hope was in the air.
Right away the creatures chanted,
Hope was in the air.

I'm really new to poetry and so I wanted to try a style that I have never experimented with before.
