99 (It Is What It Is)
A heart of gold, a ribbon too
Laid to rest much too soon.
A precious soul, a pretty face
One of which we barely had a taste.
It is what it is, is that not true?
Tell me, did she ever smile at you?
Melt your heart or make you laugh?
Cuss like a sailor when she got mad?
So much energy, so much pride
With a problem that she never tried to hide.
A battle which we fought with her,
But you cannot question the good Lord’s work.
Can you blame him for wanting all of her?
Someone to teach the angels how to play soccer.
She’s running around on that field in the sky
Free from hurt, so there’s no need for us to cry.
Through us lives her courage, her spirit, her love and then,
The strength to believe that “it is what it is.”

This peom is in memory of a beautiful 15 year old who lost her battle with cancer this past summer. She was a friend, a team mate and an inspiration to anyone who was blessed enough to have her in their life. Rest easy babygirl, you are dearly misssed. #99neverforgotten
