I hide myself behind a mask,
That wearing on my head,
You also do the same
But only we know why.

I hide myself behind a mask,
That only shows a lie,
You, unwillingly hide like me
Almost in shame.

I hide myself behind a mask,
That hides my true self,
You know not of me
But only my mask.

I hide myself behind a mask,
Where only despair will lie,
You’re the only one that
Will know me.

I hide myself behind a mask
Of my fear and shame,
Nothing leaves from my masquerade
Of never ending fear.

I hide myself behind a mask,
That’s alive like I am,
Nothing like the taste of
Bitter sweet regret.

I hide myself behind a mask,
That consumes my face whole,
My mask fades from life
At the sight of you.

I hide myself behind a mask,
Shattered broken and withered with time,
Gone I see the light
Of day once more.

I hide myself behind a mask,
Which breaks when you speak
Freeing me to hear you
Till the day it all ends.
