Ode to Fish
Setting out on the lake in the boat
no other place I would want to be
cold and waiting like a star in the sky for the fish to bite
letting my line lay on the bottom
when you decide to bite
I am sure not to jerk late
reeling you back to me
I can see your beauty and weight
when I take you pierced lips off my hook
i finally get a good look
just imagining you on my plate
i am glad of the good update
of us getting another great meal
