Insomnia
The sounds in the sky, a softening sway.
Darker than sunlight, darker than day.
The night is better, it's somehow soothing.
I see the night trees, gently moving.
The crescent moon, sits and stares.
Watching down, on the night's affairs.
It's better like this, like this i can think.
While the world lies dormant, I sleep not a wink.
Despite the darkness, the sky is bare.
Except the stars, that fill the air.
The sun is rising now, to begin a new day.
I watch it motionless, through my eyes of grey.

I wrote this poem one night around 3am; I was having a lot of trouble sleeping on that particular night. I felt a sudden urge of inspiration to write, and as I sat at my window sill looking out, it just seemed to flow naturally. I hope some people who often feel a little low can read my poem and know that other people understand. It isn't just them who struggles to sleep at night because there is so much on their mind. And that they can be inspired almost by this piece, to turn the negativity into something beautiful.
