The one. The only. Alan
The one .The only .Alan
“If you see him in the halls of MHS you know who he is, the skinny guy with spiky hair that always is maching and can leave without his hair being done the one everyone knows. That’s my cousin, he is the one who keeps me up when I’m down and the one that can help me threw anything and everything. He is my cousin Alan Castro.”
It was July 23, 2008 my mom walked into the house and said “Mija por favor te puedes sentar te tengo que decir algo.” When she said that my cousin walked into the house crying, that’s when I realized something terrible happened. Then she said “Tu primo Chimino a muerto.” Then I sat down and started crying. That was a couple of days before mine and my cousin, Alan, birthdays. I remember Chimino saying that he was going to send us something from mexico to me and my cousin Alan. The package that I got for my birthday turns out that he sent it to me before he had passed away.
When I got that box my cousin Alan was there with me. I won’t ever forget this moment. My hands were shaking and I was nervous to see what was in it. Chimino was like my brother and the last thing he did was send this to me I felt a sharp pain in my chest when I realize this will be the last thing that he got me. He will always be in my heart. It was a belt that he had that I liked a lot and he gave it to me. That was 6 years ago and until this day I still have it and use it. My cousin Alan was there for me in that moment and I was grateful for him for pushing me back on my feet. He told me stories of Chimino when was with us and he said “Don't ever forget all the memories we had with him. Even though if it was good or bad, don’t ever forget him.“
Now lets get started with him being the most motivated person in my life. He keeps me going and he is always there when I need him. For example, when I was at school in the lunch room this guy came up to me and grabbed his milk and poured it all over me. As a freshman I started freaking out because I thought that was a everyday thing it felt like i was in a movie where they throw the food at the nerds and throw them into the garbage can . But he was there and came up to me and asked if I was okay. Another time was when last year I had a gym class with my cousins Laura and Alan. I had to run and I was about to give up when Alan pushed me and cheered me on to keep running even if I wanted to stop he was there to push me to the end. When they were making fun of me because of the way I ran that motivated be to run faster and in a better way because of them making fun of me is the reason I try harder and be better. He always stands me up when i'm down and he is just the best and even though we fight and he can be mean sometimes. He’s just the person who is always there for me, no matter the situation.
He motivates me because I want to be like him. He is so strong with everything he has gone through and he can still deal with a lot more than I can. He is the strongest, most amazing person in my life he can push me to my best and I can't believe all he has done for me and all he is going to do for me in the future and I know he will be there and I will aways be there for him to.He can be a pain and i think i can to but he is the biggest motivator for me in my life
When I was younger i remember that Alan and my cousin Laura got along more than me and him did and I did not like that he always went with her and I got upset because I did not think that was fair. When he came over to hang out with me it was the best moment ever he has been there for me since day one and I won’t ever forget that. We have gone through a lot and all those situations that have broken us down we have been there for each other. I am going to end this with we are “Cousins by blood, friends by chance.”
