Melancholic
Thoughts corrupted by the frightening sound
of hatred and hell.
Visions blurred by the sadness, though I can barely
tell.
Through my dampened eyes I catch of glimpse of my
dripping red sorrow.
Only to remember that I'll still be breathing
tomorrow.

My inspiration for this piece was my own thoughts and feelings. It expresses the sadness I had felt at one point in my life and how scary and alone depression can be. I mainly wrote this to vent and turn my negativity into poetry. However, if other teens can relate to the emotions I express in this piece, and maybe feel less alone then that's more than I could have ever asked for.
