In Memoriam of Mr. Williams (1951-2014)
A once bright light had seemingly grown dim,
Too bright for this world, it seemed.
A beacon of light and happiness as him
Gave many people their hopes, their dreams.
But through this giving, though happiness it brought,
The giver grew weary all the while.
Until, too soon, the end he sought.
His lips had formed their very last smile.
The demons he faced believed they had won
As the news of his passing spread.
Yet they found not the broken spirited ones.
With sick surprise, they found laughter instead.
For this man's giving proved stronger than they,
And their victory was unseen and short lived.
The monsters, then, were driven away.
His beacon shone brighter than it ever did.
