The Art In Pain

She's a dancer
at least her blood is
it dances down her arm
and stains her skin
She's a singer
at least her cries are
when she opens her mouth
i hear beautiful sobs
she's an artist
at least her blade is
it carves beautiful shapes
into her wrist
she's a musician
at least she used to be
but her brain is skipping notes
and her heart is off beat
the art in her pain
the pain in her art
it shatters her brain
and pierces her heart
