Won't you help the bleeding butterfly?
The one with cut wings?

Won't you comfort it?
Tell it of the beauty it brings?

Please help the butterfly,
it doesn't know what to do!

I don't want it to die,
it breathes like me and you!

Why doesn't it know
how lovely it truly is?

Why won't you help it,
Is this some horrid quiz?

Please save it for me,
I don't have words to help!

Why can't I touch it,
fix it by myself?

Crying won't change it,
so will you fix it please?

Won't you help the butterfly?
The one with cut wings?

I am so happy you commented on this one! I actually read your angel poem today and left a comment on it for you :) I really do value your feedback, and it makes me feel good that other teens can relate to my writing :) Also, thanks for the long comment, I love them lol XD

"When you need something to believe in, believe in yourself."
"A poem unwritten is only a thought; unshared, unsaid..."

This poem was so beautiful, Liv. I could really connect with it-- every single stanza...it made me think of one of my really good friends, who to me is a bleeding butterfly. I try to help her...I try so hard, but I always end up feeling like it's never enough. And then I look at her family; at her older sister and her parents. They are the ones who could truly help her because they are her family; there's only so much I can do as a friend. But they don't help her, and it's partly because she won't let them...but they don't exactly welcome her with open arms either...if you're interested, I wrote a poem about my friend, and it's called "My Angel," if you want to check it out :) You don't have to though haha...but anyway, long story short, I really loved this poem, and once again, you've told a story, expressed a thought that is so incredibly deep, but you did it in a way that it so easy to understand and relate to. And even though I feel like I say this every time I comment on one of your poems, I'll say it again; I love how honest and sincere and innocent and straightforward this poem is! I'm just blown away by your voice Liv...it's so beautiful and it brings something special and priceless to ever poem you write. You have so much talent when it comes to writing poetry...it honestly makes me a little jealous haha ;) Thank you so so so so so much for posting this poem!!!! Oh, and I apologize for the super long comment...

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.

Oh, my gosh. :o I can't say anything, except that is phenomenal and amazing. This is just beautiful and so raw. This is so similar, to a poem or two poems that I wrote. O.o It's just so good. I wish I could explain how much I love your poem and just how wonderful it is. :D But being the weird, I can't really unless I think about it seriously, for a day or more. It's ... just fantastic. Your poem speaks to me. It's just ... -> O.o I'm just speechless. And I wish I wasn't. :/ But, thank you, thank you somuch. I can connect to it a lot. :) Thank you so much, again. :) :D

I really enjoyed this poem. Loved the word choice and the imagery. Very well done. I would love to read more from you!
