The Answer's Yes
I wish I could say
That it wasn’t true,
But I cannot lie.
It wasn’t my fault,
And it was not a crime.
Love is not a crime,
Or so I think.
For it seems that too many fall
Into that belief.
I wish that it didn’t hurt,
But for all that it’s worth,
Love is amazing and spectacular.
You fall for a stranger
In hopes that they catch you.
Your secrets slip out
In hopes they won’t judge.
Heart to heart conversations
Are spoken as you let it all in.
You let their world sink into yours,
And you pray they won’t bring you down.
You’re hopeful of the future,
But so many disappoint you.
Confiding in your one true pair,
With hopes they won’t be like
the last one.
They become all you can think about,
All you talk about.
Is it really true love?
The answer’s, “Yes.”
