Oceanic
I am frustrated by my inability to string words together, to find the bead that fits next,
to find the one that won’t slip off the string. I am frustrated that even within
those parameters, my final product is a necklace unworthy of praise
or admiration, a haphazard mixture of mismatched materials
that do not flow, that are not eloquent, that do not harbor
understanding or coherence. I am frustrated that
I have an ocean before me, but
I can barely contain a
drop.
