Then and Now
We used to be clueless and carefree
Not knowing what was ahead
Playing around ‘til the moon came out
Then hopping right into bed
We used to have loads of time
To laugh and sing and play
To dance around and just have fun
Throughout the entire day
We used to be daring and fearless
Doing whatever came to mind
Jumping off things and climbing up trees
And having a real good time
Now we are faced with life
And the many decisions too
All the piles of work and papers
And the list of things to do
Now we barely have time
To just sit back and just rest
To close our eyes and put up our feet
And just relax and take a breath
Now we are more reserved
And scared to make a mess
Afraid to make a move
But still wanting to impress
