Look behind the curtain and you'll see
the facade that's different from reality.
Within the house so quaint,
a new picture begins to paint
Sharp claws grasp the doe,
gone is the life she'd come to know.
Life confesses it's true intentions,
beneath the dark moon she begins her dissention.
Back and forth the demons sway,
she takes another sip to make them go away.
Like the Usher things tumble down,
but no ones there to hear the sound.
Tired of all the lies,
those she loved said goodbye.
Her daughters teary eyed and wary,
from the secrets they tried to bury.
Mothers love could not conquer,
it's much easier to remain a drunkard.
Daughters scorned and broken,
trials they've faced still unspoken.
They start anew in an old familiar place,
and the bad memories they begin to erase.

This poem is about a friend of mine with an alcoholic mother. They went through and are still experiencing troubles in their life because of Alcohol. If people read this and can connect with it on some level, that is all I want for people to get out of my poem.
