The Safe Suitcase
I found this picture in a
photo album. Looking
back a few years when
my sister and I were kids.
We hop in the suitcase
laughing, energy, loud, young,
being kids also crying, blaming,
and arguing with each other about
who drove the toy car already.
We were laying in an old, small
apartment in Poland with
cracks and holes in the walls.
We thought there was a witch
house right across the street.
The woman with bright green eyes
and red hair who gave birth to my
sister and me told the story to us, so
we tried to find any hidden, safe place.
