The Best Feeling

My wrinkly palms were sweating,
Body was shaking nonstop,
And adrenaline was pumping through my veins.
I always knew this moment would come,
But I just never knew when or how
This miracle would approach me.

Standing behind the thick black three-point line.
As nervous as a small cat
Being chased after a ginormous German Shepherd.
While I quickly glanced to the side,
I saw everybody out of his or her seat
Waiting for a stunning miracle to happen.
And as I looked further
I also saw my coach wink at me
With a confident smirk on his retired face.

Time was ticking
One

by

one.
Just only one possession remaining.
This would decide the outcome of the game.

I received the slippery
And sweaty ball.
Barely catching,
As it almost slid through my fingers.
Before I released the basketball,
Sweat dripped down into the crinkles of my eyes
From my thick eyelids.
So now all I could do was hope
And pray to the man above.

As I reopened my sweaty eyes fully again,
I saw the crowd chanting
And teammates sprinting after me.
Like I was some type of gift
On beautiful Christmas morning.

I just felt so special.
It was that type of moment
Where you felt you achieved
Something so tremendous,
But there is no way to explain it
Until you experience it for yourself.

So when there is an opportunity for you,
Either in life or sports,
Will you risk or shy away,
To embrace the best feeling
IN THE WORLD!
