The Ticks and Tocks of the Heart

"The ticking of the clock never ends. It goes on without any sign of stopping. It ticks, tocks, then repeats. Over and over until insanity breaks into the mind, and even then, it still ticks and tocks without an end.
Eventually the heart beats to the rhythm of the clock. The pounding in the chest in sync with every tick, every tock. But even with the constant sound of time all around, time itself is lost in the abyss of insatiable sound.
And soon it becomes one with the soul. Never forgotten, never to forget. Forever with, even after death. Even when time stops permanently, never to return, the shadow of the clock still ticks, still tocks, to the beat of the once heaving heart."

A little side note about my poem in case there is some confusion, in this case "heaving" means to rise and fall rhythmically or spasmodically. Not to lift something or that the place is extremely crowded. Thank you for reading!!
