Truth Be Told
The only way to truly describe me,
Is the only way to truly offend you?
I would only explain if the need be,
But I know if I ask you it would hurt me too.
The truth may hurt but it is needed,
Every lie adds another face.
Every lie keeps on beadin’
And all the pain is just a little taste.
Every lie keeps packing on to your shoulders,
Pile it on and on till you can’t carry it any longer.
Each false word feels like big, fat boulders,
Please tell the truth and next time just ponder.
Deep in our hearts we all know
I can tell you lie when you look in my eyes.
Even a white lie piles up like snow,
But we all know each one of us has ties.
I try to tell the truth, but it is not always right,
But I can’t tell the truth all the time.
I can try with all my strength and all my might,
That doesn’t mean that I won’t step on a mine.
The truth may sometimes blow up in your face,
But know that it will help sooner or later.
I want the truth told right to my face,
I don’t want you to lie because it will just make the truth fader.
I may lie but just know that I try,
I try to stop but it will take time.
Every time I think of a truthful world I sigh
Because I know this world will never be mine.
The truth may hurt but it also heals,
Though it may take a lot of patience and time
Things help and that appeals,
To me so even though I’m just a mime.
If our lives are based on lies,
then our lives aren’t worth living.
For if all I know is that all our lives, ties and eyes,
Aren’t true then life is not worth living or believing.
