Innocence
Yeah that was something
we all had
something We had this before

Before we had to grow up
back when things were just numbers
and when adult life was way into the future
but this is all different

now
now innocence is practically gone
now
children are acting more like adult

now children are swearing like sailors
now children
put the bird in the air
whenever they what to

\even if its at the worst possible moment
they seem to think
that this behavior
that this behavior makes them look older

look more sophisticated
look more socially accepted
and i began to believe
that innocence is slowly drifting away

that all the new age music
electronics and accomedies
lead to this behavior
to this dystopian future

Maybe its all the murder
or violence
or all this blood and gore
or all the sex

maybe it one of them
or all of them
or its none of them
that lead to this future

but we all still have to grow up
we have to become adults
and we lose all innocence
and we keep all remnants

all the pieces of the moment innocence is lost
in the secrets we keep
and the secrets
we share

because its these secrets
that we share
that hold the exact moment
everything is lost

and these secretes
hold the exact moment
that our image
is changed for ever

the moment when we are not
the person we were before
because we grew up
and as we grow up

we find love
and this love
this love leads to
the destruction of innocence

no matter if you are gay
straight or bisexual
love is the root of all change
and eventually we all change

and this change is for the better
because we grow up
and enter a world
that we have never seen before

and in this world
all innocence is gone between
every single adult
in this world

and love seems to find us
when we least expect it
and when we accept it in
we change once again

and we keep changing
we have new rituals
first drink , first tattoo that we got on our own
and our final love

but we accept this love
and we accept change
even if you find love in
a parking lot

or spiking slurpees with alcohol
or just moving your body
because even a glance
turns into a stare

turns into a flirt
turns into hand holding
turns into kissing
which leads to more

and all this
all this leads to the final change
the final version of who we are
and the final memorie where innocence is shattered again

so allow all this
allow heart break
allow mistakes
allow change

because you
you wont regret
who you become
when love enters your life

I wrote this piece for an assignment. It was voted best of the class, and people loved it. I wrote it when I heard things a friend did with her boyfriend.
