He was enjoying his life,
Crossing the road, no care in the world,
When he saw a car speeding towards him
He couldn't even warn his wife...
The car had collided, the whole of Hades
Broke loose, releasing its hatred, and said,
“Be thankful it's not death from a noose!”
He was hit by an inattentive driver, on a cellular phone
She cared more for her phone, than watching the road,
She didn't know he was there, but she would discover
that when it happened, the angels would hover....
The woman called the ambulance, praying for forgiveness,
That her mistake cost a life, and filled her with sadness
He was rushed to the hospital, moving quickly down Park Lane,
When he gripped the woman's arm, and uttered these words with deep pain,
“Please, I beg you tell her I loved her, to my wife, my dear Jane......”
He passed out soon, and arrived quite quickly,
And rushed to the ER, his condition becoming sickly,
They tried operating, but to no avail,
When his wife had discovered, she began to wail,
The final bell was rung, and he was gone in a flash,
By that unfocused driver, by that awful car crash......

I had read a lot on this subject before writing this, it deeply hurt me how so many people don't pay attention, and hurt others, or maybe even kill the person. I thought awareness of this topic would be best put through a poem.

Wow!  This was so powerful!!  I think you were incredibly insightful in how you expressed the horror and pain that inattentive drivers can inflict upon another.  Nice poem!
