Next time you'll notice
Next time you’ll notice that girl
that sits in the back of the class in severe pain
you’ll notice the cuts on her legs deeper then they should ever be
You’ll notice her drawing instead of paying attention,
and she’s not drawing flowers and rainbows,
but dark storm clouds and the demons that eat away inside of her
you notice her trying to set them free
Next time you’ll notice her empty seat
when she misses a class
wondering where she is,
wondering if she’s ok
if she’ll come back
with another bruise
another gauged line in her thigh,
or if she’ll even return at all
and you fear that one day
you’ll come to school to find
that she’s never coming back,
and you did nothing to help
