Summer
Summer’s coming
The pools are warm
Kids are humming
No more snow storms.
The popsicles come out
Melting in the sun
The children scream and shout
Having so much fun.
In the pool they splash and play
And in the ocean they ride the waves
The water’s warm both night and day
Tomorrow morning, they’ll always crave.
Time to go shopping
New big summer sales
From store to store, only stopping
For a smoothie or two, with kale.
And already, summer’s ending
Time to go back to school
All the kids will be pretending
That the new school year will rule.
