My Lullaby

There’s comfort in a stomach’s murmur,
The sigh of cold throughout my veins,
A blanket of soft baby hairs,
Spread gently o’er a fuzzy brain.

There’s comfort in a hunger’s rocking,
Its hands enclose my thoughts, relieved.
And sing them softly down to rest;
Their grating rowdy cries take leave.
