When summer comes
The sun comes out
Lights up the sky
People shout
Sitting on the beach
Sand on the floor
Water out below
About half past four
So many people
Out having a blast
No one wants it to leave
But the days pass
Everyone's out
Having so much fun
Friendly faces everywhere
Out in the sun

The author's comments:
The poem I wrote is titled summer. Summer is my favorite season, so that’s why I decided to write about it. This type of poem is an ode. The inspiration of my poem was thinking about the warm summer. This made me want to be out on a beach in the sun. I made the mood of my poem relaxed. In this ode poem the last word of the second and fourth line rhyme. Also the last word of the sixth and eighth line rhyme. This pattern continues throughout the ode.
