The Perfect Christmas Eve
To this day I still remember a Christmas Eve that was almost too good to be true. We felt cozy and warm snuggled by the fireplace, as we marveled at the beautiful tree before us. Although we were tired, our relaxed bodies were too excited for sleep. Gazing out the window into the dark street we saw tiny snowflakes floating to the ground where they began to accumulate. Running outside bare footed we leaped on the icy snow, trying to avoid contact. Before we knew it our toes where numb and without hesitation we returned to the fireplace. Ending the night perfectly my mom surprised us with homemade hot chocolate, tasty and warm. With warm toes and warm hearts we drifted off soundly, dreaming of the perfect Christmas day that would soon be my present.
